Uses & care

USES:

Burn hardwood down to glowing embers before cooking for the cleanest wood-fired flavor.
Use different wood species to create unique flavor profiles.
Preheat the cooking grates for 10–15 minutes before grilling.
Keep a small fire burning to replenish hot coals during long cooks.
Raising or lowering the cooking grate is often more effective than adding or removing fuel to control cooking temperatures.
Empty ash regularly to maintain proper airflow and efficient combustion.

Interchangeable cooking surfaces allow you to prepare a wide variety of foods:

V-Grates: Channel grease away from the fire to help reduce flare-ups while creating authentic wood-fired flavor.
Round Grate: Ideal for traditional grilling of steaks, burgers, chicken, seafood, and vegetables.
Griddle Plate: Perfect for smash burgers, breakfast foods, fajitas, stir-fry, vegetables, and delicate foods.

CARE:

After Every Use

Allow the grill to cool completely.
Brush cooking grates while still warm.
Empty ash only after it has completely cooled.
Wipe exterior surfaces with a damp cloth.
Dry thoroughly before covering.

Grates

Clean with a grill brush or scraper.
Wash occasionally with warm, soapy water.
Dry completely before reinstalling.

Griddle

Scrape away food residue.
Wipe clean.
Apply a light coat of cooking oil after each use to prevent rust.

Firebox

Remove ash regularly.
Excess ash restricts airflow and reduces cooking performance.

Straight Answers

Is it worth the investment?

Tizona grills are built with premium materials and precision engineering meant to last for years, not seasons — most owners find the cost evens out against replacing a cheaper grill every couple of years.

How difficult is assembly?

Every Tizona ships mostly assembled. Expect to attach a few components like shelves, wheels, or handles.

What fuel does it use?

Live-fire grills burn charcoal or seasoned hardwood for authentic open-fire flavor.

How long will it last?

Built from heavy-duty materials designed for years of regular use — see the warranty details below for exact coverage terms.

What warranty is included?

Every live-fire grill is covered by the Live Fire Series limited warranty. See the Live Fire Warranty page for the exact terms.

How quickly does it ship?

Orders ship free nationwide. Alaska, Hawaii and international orders need a freight quote, call (661) 795-3515. You'll receive tracking information as soon as your order leaves the warehouse.

Is customer support available?

Yes — our U.S.-based team is available by phone or email before and after you buy.

Do you offer a military or first responder discount?

Yes. Verified military (active duty, veterans and military families) and first responders (fire, police and healthcare workers) get 10% off their order. Add what you want to your cart, tap Get Verified on the cart page and verify with GOVX. You'll get a one-time code to use at checkout. The discount doesn't apply to shipping or tax.
