Prep
Preheat oil in a skillet to 350. Cut off the top and bottom of the Onions and remove the outer layer. Slice onion into half-inch/ inch pieces. Break up slices of onion into rings and place in a bowl. Season Onion rings with Lane’s Signature Rub and give them a light toss.
In a container add flour, Lane’s Signature Rub, 1 can of Beer. The mixture should be thinner than pancake batter consistency.
Cook
Once the oil has reached temp, batter your rings and place them into the oil using tongs. When the rings start browning, flip, then cook the other side until golden brown. Once rings are done remove and place on a plate with paper towels. Lightly season with Lane’s Signature.

What else beats beer battered onion rings? You are either team Fries or team Rings. But we think this recipe will convert even the hardcore Fry lovers! Onion rings are a classic and these will not disappoint. Plus, these are fun to get the kids involved.
Ingredients:
- 2 Yellow Onions
- Lane’s Signature Rub
- 1 1/2 cup All-purpose Flour
- 1 Can of Beer (Preferably a sour or a Lager)
- Cooking Oil
Optional Dipping Sauce
Instructions:
1. Cut off top and bottom of Onions and remove outer layer. Slice onion into half inch to an inch pieces (Your preference)
2. Break up slices of onion into rings and place in bowl/tray. Season Onion rings with Lane’s Signature Rub and toss around
3. Add cooking oil to a skillet or dutch oven about an inch deep and heat oil to 350 degrees
4. In a container add flour, 2 tbsp Lane’s Signature Rub, 1 can of Beer – Mixture should be a thinner than toothpaste like texture.
5. Once oil has reached temp use tongs and dunk a few onion rings in the batter and place them into the oil
6. Leave rings in oil until they start browning then flip – cook the other side till golden brown.
7. Once rings are done remove and place on paper towel and lightly season with Lane’s Signature
Recipe Note
Ketchup is a classic condiment, but if you’re looking for something special we suggest using Lane’s Sorta White as a killer Onion Ring dipping sauce!
