You don’t need a fancy pizza oven to make crispy, smoky, delicious pizza at home. With a cedar plank and your grill, you can get that wood-fired flavor in under 15 minutes. This recipe keeps it super simple with store-bought flatbread and adds a burst of flavor from our very own Burn Pit BBQ Garlic Seasoning. Whether it’s a quick weeknight dinner or a weekend cookout, this one’s a winner.
Ingredients:
- 1 food-safe cedar plank (soaked in water for at least 1 hour)
- 1 piece of naan or store-bought flatbread
- 1/4 cup pizza or marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 4-5 slices pepperoni or your favorite topping
- 1/2 tsp Burn Pit BBQ Garlic Seasoning
- Fresh basil (optional)
- Olive oil for drizzling
Instructions:
1. Preheat your grill to medium heat (375–400°F). Set up for indirect heat if possible.
2. Toast the plank on the grill for about 2 minutes per side, just until lightly charred.
3. Assemble your pizza: place the flatbread on the plank, spread the sauce, add cheese and pepperoni, and sprinkle generously with Garlic Seasoning.
4. Grill covered for 10–12 minutes, until cheese is melted and the edges are crisp.
5. Finish with fresh basil and a drizzle of olive oil if desired.
6. Slice and serve hot!
Tips and Tricks
Soak your plank in water for at least 1 hour to prevent burning.
Keep a spray bottle nearby for flare-ups.
Use indirect heat to avoid burning the crust.
