Big D’s Q – Cheesy Potato and Pork Goodness

Big D’s Q – Cheesy Potato and Pork Goodness

Story

Christy tried her hand at this Russian classic. She amped up the flavor with GAME ON and STEAK OUT.

Great for those days when the wind howls and the snow glistens. This is the type of recipe anyone can cook. If you can turn on a stove and have relatively medial skills with a knife, this is for you! Go for it and let us know how you like it.

Also great cooked on a smoker!

Ingredients:

Equipment Needed

  • Large baking dish
  • Large skillet
  • Sharp knife
  • Stove top
  • Oven (or take it outside to the smoker for extra flavor)
  • Cheese grater

Instructions:

1. Fry onions on medium heat until opaque.

2. Peel potatoes and slice into 1/4 – 1/8 of inch round slices. Don’t get too thin, as you want to prevent them from becoming when you fry. (Think the width of a McDonald’s french fry)

3. Pour 1/2 inch of oil in a large skillet on high heat. Place potato round slices into the hot oil to fry until golden brown and the edges are crisp.

4. Thinly slice pork tenderloin into even slices. (Depending on the size of the loin, you may only use half. You want enough to cover your baking dish in one layer.)

5. Grease baking dish.

6. Layer potatoes on the bottom of the baking dish. Sprinkle with Big D’s Q GAME ON seasoning.

7. Add a layer of cooked onions. Sprinkle with Big D’s Q GAME and STEAK OUT.

8. Layer the sliced pork loin evenly over the onions. Sprinkle with GAME ON and lightly sprinkle with STEAK OUT.

9. Let the dish sit for 10-15 minutes to let the meat absorb the seasoning.

10. Spread 1 cup mayo across the meat.

11. Cover with a thick layer of freshly grated Swiss Cheese.

12. Place in over at 350 degrees and bake 20-25 minutes.

Tips and Tricks
This dish is a meal in itself. Pair with a light salad.
